Railway Experiences at Lakeside Miniature Railway

Want to Drive a train?

Well this is your chance!

This is a golden opportunity to get down and dirty with the Locomotives.

Most Weekends from 09:00 - 11:00 is the chance to come and drive a train at Lakeside Miniature Railway.

Railway experiences can only be booked through the website.

The railway experience lasts about 2 hours, and it consists of

•     Checking the Engine

•     Checking the Track & Points

•     Starting an engine

•     How to drive an engine

•     Carriages

•     Coupling carriages

•     Driving the engine and carriage down the line

You will receive a certificate to say you have completed an driving experience at Lakeside Miniature Railway.

If you or someone you know would like to do this then you need to know the following

• Some of the work requires some manual strength. If you cannot do this you must let us know.

• No knowledge of engines and trains is required.

• The experience will be working with 1 Locomotive. This will be picked by LMR.

• If you have access requirements please let us know. Your access needs may dictate which locomotive you can drive.

• The experience can be delivered in British Sign Language.

• Weather, and maintenance work can dictate when the experience can happen.

• After the preparation of engine, track etc.. has been completed then your Entourage (friends) may ride with the engine in the carriage.
